About the role#
Allen Control Systems is hiring a Computer Vision/Machine Learning Intern for Summer 2027. You will work directly with engineers to build and deploy autonomous systems. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Austin, Texas. Interns take on real engineering problems with direct impact on our defense technology projects.
What you'll do#
- Build models to detect, track, and classify drones and aerial threats in real time.
- Manage training data generation and pipeline development.
- Optimize machine learning models to run efficiently on embedded hardware.
- Run experiments in sensor fusion, tracking robustness, and field performance.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, or similar frameworks through coursework or projects.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Exposure to C++ is a plus.
- A strong interest in real-time perception systems that perform under millisecond constraints.
