About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience within our heavy civil construction and materials operations. You will work on-site for a duration of 3 to 6 months, gaining exposure to large-scale projects while receiving mentorship and professional training.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily asphalt plant operations and track production schedules.
- Support quality control testing and material sampling procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels of aggregates, liquid asphalt, and other raw materials.
- Help with production reporting, data collection, and operational analysis.
- Coordinate logistics for incoming materials and outgoing product.
- Observe plant maintenance and equipment inspections.
- Review production records, safety procedures, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and assist with special projects for continuous improvement.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mining & Materials Engineering, Business Management, or a related engineering field.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A collaborative attitude and the ability to work well within a team.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to change.
