About the role#
This internship supports project teams across our Virginia operations. You will work with our equipment and transportation management teams to help maintain a fleet of trucks and heavy equipment. This is an operational role where you will learn how we manage logistics for construction, milling, and paving projects. Most internships last between 0 and 3 months.
What you'll do#
- Assist with implementing, monitoring, and improving core operational processes.
- Support the Equipment Manager with cost reviews and billing issues.
- Help track and document equipment inspections, registrations, and permits to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate fuel planning and assist with maintenance scheduling for trucks and equipment.
- Collaborate with the Transportation Department to track equipment locations and improve data reporting.
- Assist the project management coordinator, shop foreman, and superintendent as needed.
- Analyze data to help optimize overall efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to solve problems independently.
- Strong communication skills and a customer service mindset.
- A collaborative approach to teamwork and a strong work ethic.

- Compensation: $23.00 to $26.00 per hour, based on experience.
