About the role#
This internship offers on-the-job training within a heavy civil construction environment. You will receive mentorship from team members and participate in social networking events and classroom training to build professional skills. Assignments typically last between 3 and 6 months.
What you'll do#
You will support a crew, project, or plant team in the planning, scheduling, and execution of heavy civil construction projects. Your daily tasks include:
- Coordinating subcontractors
- Managing project schedules
- Reviewing project plans
- Preparing work plans
- Handling contract management
- Completing daily reporting
- Ordering materials
- Processing change orders
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mining and Materials Engineering, Business Management, or a related engineering field
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- A collaborative attitude and the ability to work well in a team
- A willingness to learn and adapt to change
