About the role#
Allan Myers is looking for a dedicated Cost Accountant intern to join our team in Worcester, Pennsylvania. This is a full-time, on-site position based in our regional office. You will work with a team that focuses on heavy civil construction, supporting projects that build local infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Apply accounting principles to compile, process, and depict financial information.
- Manage and analyze data related to payroll, equipment, subcontracts, permanent materials, and overheads.
- Assist with financial forecasts, including construction project revenue, margins, and cash flow.
- Prepare profit and loss statements and other accounting reports.
- Enter journal entries and assist with the monthly general ledger closing process.
- Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers to verify transactions.
- Support construction managers, project managers, and estimators with information requests.
- Maintain and update procedural documentation while ensuring data accuracy.
- Monitor compliance with internal control procedures and accounting best practices.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in construction accounting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and CMIC software.
- Experience in a heavy or civil construction environment is a plus.
