About the role#
Adolfson & Peterson Construction offers paid, full-time internships for students looking to gain experience in the construction industry. You will work under the supervision of full-time team members to learn about various aspects of the business. You will gain exposure to both office and field-based disciplines, including safety, preconstruction, project management, field operations, accounting, business development, MEP, virtual construction, marketing, and human resources. We expect all team members to prioritize safety by working within our Incident and Injury Free culture.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside full-time staff to gain professional experience.
- Rotate through various departments to understand different facets of our operations.
- Absorb information to support your academic and professional development.
- Maintain a focus on safe work practices at all times.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a degree in a subject related to your internship focus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical and logic skills with an eye for detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under time constraints.
- Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
- Physical agility to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, and kneel.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push up to 100 pounds.
- Willingness to work in various climate conditions, including extreme weather.
