About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for students completing their Diploma of Vocational Studies in Welding and Fitting. You will gain hands-on experience by working on large-scale steel structure projects in a modern production environment.
What you'll do#
Your time is split between welding and fitting tasks. You will start by completing our initial training program.
- Develop welding skills using processes like FCAW.
- Interpret welding procedures and symbols.
- Perform fillet and groove welds on production components.
- Read fabrication drawings and follow work procedures.
- Sort, position, clean, and bevel components for assembly.
- Lay out and assemble subassemblies.
- Assist fitters with steel component fabrication.
- Adjust welding parameters and perform tack welding using FCAW or SMAW.
- Operate 10- to 50-ton overhead cranes.
- Handle tasks such as preheating, heat straightening, and oxy-fuel cutting.

Location & details#
- Location: Terrebonne, Quebec, Canada.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, day shift. Monday to Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
