About the role#
Acuity Insurance is hiring a Customer Service Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, remote position. You will work Monday through Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. CST, with optional weekend and holiday hours available. Please note that Acuity does not provide sponsorship for U.S. work authorization.
What you'll do#
- Answer incoming after-hours telephone calls and route switchboard traffic.
- Enter new Automobile, Property, and General Liability losses into the claims system.
- Follow established escalation criteria and page handlers when necessary.
- Index claims and commercial lines documents.
- Provide backup support for Billing, Imaging, Policy Assembly, the Mail Room, and the Switchboard.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma (one year of post-high school experience is preferred).
- Prior customer service experience.
- Ability to empathetically lead conversations and gather information using screen flows.
- Active listening skills and the ability to learn quickly.
- General PC knowledge and the ability to type alphanumeric data with minimal errors.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external customers.
- Flexibility to manage multiple tasks throughout the day.
- Ability to establish a quiet, private, and interruption-free workspace.
- Reliable internet connection provided at your own cost.

- This role is based in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
