About the role#
This 10-week summer internship offers hands-on experience in business development and client engagement. You will gain exposure to lead generation, account outreach, and the full recruiting lifecycle. Throughout the program, you will work alongside our local team, receive mentorship, and participate in training sessions to build your professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Conduct outbound prospecting to identify and qualify potential clients.
- Support account executives with lead research, market mapping, and target list development.
- Make sales calls, craft outreach messages, and nurture early-stage client relationships.
- Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and client materials.
- Participate in sales meetings, deal strategy sessions, and pipeline reviews.
- Shadow sales professionals on client calls or visits to understand the sales cycle.
- Track activity metrics and provide weekly progress updates.
- Source and screen candidates through job boards, social media, and internal databases.
- Conduct initial resume reviews and phone screens to assess candidate fit.
- Support recruiters with interviews, follow-ups, and candidate communications.
- Assist in writing and posting job descriptions.
- Participate in daily and weekly learning sessions on sales tactics and recruiting.
- Complete a capstone project and collaborate on group business simulations.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
- Strong interest in sales and business development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain a professional attitude.
- Strong organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
- A competitive, motivated mindset with a focus on achieving activity goals.
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, and adapt to new situations.
- Prior experience in customer service, campus leadership, or sales is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role based in Houston, Texas.
- The program runs for 10 weeks during Summer 2027.
- This is a full-time, paid internship at $19.23 per hour, capped at 40 hours per week.
