About the role#
This is an unpaid internship position based in Riverside, California. The role focuses on performing supervised individual, group, and family therapy, as well as crisis intervention and outreach. Interns work under the guidance of licensed clinicians to support patient care and clinical operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist clinicians in developing and implementing treatment plans with measurable, attainable goals based on clinical assessments and interviews.
- Review patient progress and setbacks, making recommendations to support successful transitions.
- Complete clinical documentation under the supervision of a licensed clinician.
- Demonstrate a professional and empathetic approach to patient care, prioritizing safety and resolving complaints as they arise.
- Advanced students may have the opportunity to conduct patient assessments, perform crisis interventions, and facilitate groups.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Health Administration, Public Health, or a related counseling field from an accredited program.
- Eligibility for supervision leading to LCSW, LPC, or LCPC licensure.
- Valid CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification (training is available upon hire).
- Required state-specific licensure or certification for counseling.
