About the role#
The Federal Work Study MUS Technician assists with the daily operations of classrooms, labs, and rehearsal spaces. This role supports students and faculty by ensuring equipment is functional and available for use. You will gain experience in customer service, departmental administration, and technical equipment management while supporting the Music and Sound Department.
What you'll do#
- Check students in and out of department labs and studios.
- Manage the check-in and check-out process for equipment used by students and faculty.
- Help students use labs, studios, and related equipment.
- Monitor lab usage to ensure students follow department policies.
- Maintain spaces and equipment to keep them in working order.
- Perform general departmental administrative tasks.
What you'll need#
- Basic Apple computer skills.
- Familiarity with backline equipment, including PA systems, guitars, amplifiers, and drums.
- Familiarity with common music production hardware, software, and practices.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Location & details#
- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week, scheduled around your classes.
- Term: Rolling employment from your starting term through graduation.
- Compensation: $19.61 per hour.
