About the role#
The Federal Work Study Assistant Set Decorator role supports the School of Motion Picture and Television. You will work alongside faculty, staff, and an Academy Award-winning producer, director, and writer. This position reports to the Shop Manager and assists with the daily operations of the shop, prop rooms, and studio spaces.
What you'll do#
- Provide daily updates to the shop manager regarding shop and studio tasks.
- Assist in tracking shop and set-related projects.
- Arrange studio spaces for shoots, including painting and moving furniture.
- Use drills and other shop equipment as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shop, set design room, and prop rooms.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards to the shop and department managers.
What you'll need#
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to carry, lift, and move furniture.
- Previous experience in set decorating is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Pay rate: $19.61 per hour.
- Schedule: Flexible, between 5 and 20 hours per week.
- Employment type: Part-time, Federal Work Study.
- Term: Rolling start from the beginning of your term through graduation.
