About the role#
The Design Leadership Development Program is an initiative designed to build future leaders within Abercrombie & Fitch Co. This program provides exposure to senior leadership and prepares you to manage a portion of the business. You will participate in classroom sessions, on-the-job training, and interactive presentations. You will also have a mentor to guide your professional growth and participate in integrated social activities.
What you'll do#
Depending on your focus area, you will engage in the following activities:
- Apparel Design: Create high quality product from initial concept through production. You will research vintage and customer trends, select fabrics and trims, and edit garment fit on live models.
- Technical Design: Build detailed tech packs, construct garments, and create technical illustrations. You will also edit paper patterns and lead cross-functional fit sessions with vendors and factories.
- CAD Design: Create seasonal print, pattern, and embroidery work. You will partner with apparel designers and merchants to develop designs.
- Graphic Apparel Design: Develop seasonal graphic concepts and create print, applique, and embroidery techniques.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree or junior status working towards a degree in Graphic Design or Industrial Design.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Passion for A&F brands and the role.
- Ability to identify and interpret fashion trends.
- Solid technical skills with an eye for color and taste.
- Detail-oriented approach with strong time management and organizational skills.
- High-performance standards and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Curiosity and a desire to learn.
- Submission of unofficial transcripts, portfolio, and resume.
