    About the role#

    The Warranty College Co-op will support warranty initiatives by analyzing data and investigating field-returned components. This position offers hands-on experience with customer warranty systems, product evaluations, and cross-functional problem-solving within the automotive industry.

    What you'll do#

    • Analyze customer warranty data to identify trends, track returned components, and monitor metrics such as claim volume, labor codes, and cost impacts.
    • Investigate product issues by evaluating warranty claims and identifying potential causes of field failures.
    • Conduct hands-on evaluations of field-returned components, including product teardowns and failure analysis.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Gear Lab Engineering, and Quality.
    • Document root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
    • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate warranty trends, investigation results, and product performance data to stakeholders.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
    • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
    • Ability to work 25 hours per week on a year-round basis.
    • Interest in pursuing a career in the automotive industry.
    • Technical or industrial knowledge and experience is preferred.

    • Location: Detroit, Michigan.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Employment Type: Full-time (25 hours per week).
    • Compensation: Paid position.
