About the role#
As a Human Resources Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by supporting key HR functions including recruiting, benefits administration, and file maintenance. This role requires you to work independently, manage special projects, and maintain high levels of confidentiality. You will operate in an environment with frequent interruptions and varied activity, requiring a strong sense of urgency and focus.
What you'll do#
- Support the recruiting process by scheduling and conducting phone interviews, coordinating in-person interviews, and managing candidate communication.
- Maintain applicant records, documentation, and tracking tools to ensure accurate data.
- Represent the company at recruitment events.
- Coordinate onboarding tasks and name badges for new hires.
- Administer the tuition reimbursement program and assist associates with questions regarding payroll, technology, and benefits.
- File personnel and medical forms, reconcile monthly invoices, and update payroll records.
- Prepare informational materials and contribute to the weekly newsletter.
- Communicate messages to associates without email access.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in Human Resources or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel, as well as data entry skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work without close supervision and handle difficult conversations professionally.
- Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
- Knowledge of state and federal employment laws is helpful.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
- The role is paid and full-time.
- Hours are 20-25 hours per week during the school term and 40 hours per week during school breaks.
- Sponsorship for work authorization is not offered for this position.
