This summer internship provides undergraduate students with an opportunity to gain experience in banking and finance. You will work within the credit department, assisting Team Leaders, Relationship Managers, and Credit Analysts with underwriting, loan application analysis, and portfolio management. The program is designed to offer a well-rounded experience by providing exposure to various departments within the bank.
What you'll do#
- Assist Credit Analysts in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting credit information for existing and prospective customers.
- Prepare financial statement spreads for borrowers and guarantors and perform collateral analyses.
- Monitor periodic loan and financial covenants to ensure compliance and notify appropriate parties of any non-compliance.
- Maintain control over account credit standings and respond to credit inquiries.
- Manage a tickler system for loan relationships and contact borrowers to obtain updated financial documentation.
- Investigate and analyze credit to maximize quality and minimize potential loss.
- Manage special projects and prepare management reports as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High School diploma.
- College junior standing or higher.
- Completion of at least three Associate of Business required courses, including ACCT& 201 or an equivalent course from a 4-year institution.
- Limited knowledge of credit principles and commercial lending best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and database software.
- Knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, and relevant bank policies and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
