Morgan Stanley's student programs for summer 2027 are already posted. Its career opportunities search, filtered to students and graduates, lists summer analyst, internship, co-op and fellowship roles in the United States and Canada, and several of them review applications on a rolling basis. This guide covers what Morgan Stanley itself publishes about those programs: who each one is for, how long it runs, where it is based, and how the firm describes its interviews.
Everything below comes from Morgan Stanley's own pages, checked on 19 October 2026. Program pages change during the recruiting season, so the listing you apply through is the final word on its own terms. To see what is open right now, browse open Morgan Stanley roles on Intern Insider. As of 19 October 2026, that page lists 38 open Morgan Stanley internships.
Where Morgan Stanley lists student programs#
Morgan Stanley's Students and Graduates page describes "a range of rewarding early career opportunities, from apprenticeships to internships to full-time roles for recent graduates." The same page groups its work into seven areas: Wealth Management, Investment Banking and Capital Markets, Sales and Trading, Research, Investment Management, Operations and Company, and Technology.
Individual programs sit in the career opportunities search. Each program opens its own page on Morgan Stanley's application site, and that page is where eligibility, length and location are stated. The rest of this guide links to those program pages directly, so you can check each detail at the source.
Programs in the United States#
The US programs listed on 19 October 2026 lean toward operations, investment management and graduate-level roles. A selection, with the details each program page gives:
| Program | Location | Length | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2027 Operations Summer Analyst Program | Baltimore | 10 weeks, starting in June | Bachelor's students graduating between December 2027 and June 2028 |
| Parametric 2027 Platform Implementation Internship | Seattle | 10 weeks, June 1 to August 10, 2027 | Juniors or rising seniors working toward an undergraduate degree |
| Parametric 2027 Institutional Distribution Services Internship | Minneapolis (Edina) | 10 weeks, June 1 to August 10, 2027 | Juniors or rising seniors in finance, economics or a related field |
| Parametric 2027 AI-Enabled Technical Co-op | Alpharetta, Georgia | 6 months, January to June 2027 | Enrolled students graduating after June 2027 |
| 2027 Sustainable Finance Fellowship Program | New York | 10 weeks, early June to mid-August | Students working toward a master's degree or in a graduate program |
| 2027 Investment Banking Summer Associate Program | New York | Not stated | MBA or J.D. students graduating between December 2027 and June 2028 |
The Operations Summer Analyst Program is the clearest undergraduate option in the current list. Morgan Stanley asks for a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, encourages all majors to apply, and requires applicants to be legally authorized to work in the United States without needing visa sponsorship now or in the future. The program includes a firmwide orientation, on-the-job training and opportunities to meet members of the Operations senior management team.
Parametric appears in Morgan Stanley's search as part of its Investment Management business. Its 2027 programs are listed in Seattle, Minneapolis, New York and Alpharetta. The Platform Implementation listing says resumes are reviewed on a rolling basis until the role is filled or the deadline passes, whichever comes first.
We did not find undergraduate Investment Banking or Sales and Trading summer analyst listings for the United States in the search on 19 October 2026. Morgan Stanley does not say on the pages we checked whether those programs have closed for the 2027 cycle or have not yet been posted, so check the search directly rather than assuming either.
Programs in Canada#
Morgan Stanley's Canadian student programs are in Montreal and Calgary, and all of them are in technology or quantitative finance.
The 2027 Summer Technology Analyst Program in Montreal runs for 14 weeks, May to August, and places each summer analyst into a specific development or infrastructure team. It is open to students working toward a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics or a related technical major, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0. The French version of the listing asks for French and functional English.
The 2027 Technology College Summer Internship in Montreal is the CEGEP program. It runs for 12 weeks, May to August, and is for students working toward a DEC in the same technical fields. It asks for an R score of at least 28.
The 2027 Quantitative Finance Summer Associate Program in Montreal is a 12-week program for master's and PhD students in financial engineering, mathematics, financial mathematics, physics or a related field who will complete their degree between December 2027 and June 2028. It asks for strong programming in at least one of C++, Java, Matlab, Python, R or Scala.
The 2027 Technology Summer Analyst Program in Calgary runs for 14 weeks, May to August, and places summer analysts into a specific development team. The listing describes Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Technology, the group behind products such as Morgan Stanley at Work. It uses the same degree list and the same 3.0 out of 4.0 GPA requirement as the Montreal summer analyst program.
All three technology listings state that experience in financial services is not required. Morgan Stanley also posts a 2027 Full-Time Technology Analyst Program in Montreal for students in the final year of a bachelor's or master's degree, which is a full-time role for new graduates rather than an internship.
When applications open#
Morgan Stanley does not publish a single opening date for its Americas student programs on the pages we checked. The listings themselves show three useful things.
First, summer 2027 programs were already posted in October 2026, for internships that start in May or June 2027. Second, several programs review applications on a rolling basis, including the Operations Summer Analyst Program and the Parametric internships. Third, where a program has a firm deadline, it appears on the program page. The Sustainable Finance Fellowship, for example, closes at 11:55 PM on Friday, November 13, 2026.
With rolling review, there is little reason to wait for a deadline. Our own data points the same way. In our analysis of when internship postings actually close, about a third of postings were gone before their own stated deadline arrived.
The application and interview process#
Morgan Stanley does not publish one fixed sequence of rounds for its student programs. Here is what it does document.
You apply through the program page, and some programs ask for more than a resume. The Sustainable Finance Fellowship asks for a separate written answer of no more than 300 words. The Investment Banking Summer Associate Program lets applicants select and rank up to three preferred Investment Banking Division groups.
On interviews, Morgan Stanley's interview preparation page says interviews "could be competency, strengths based, skills based or technical," and that the firm is "interested in seeing how you work through a scenario" rather than always expecting the right answer.
Video is part of screening for some roles. A 2020 Morgan Stanley article on video interviews says more roles, including those in its North America and Asia offices, require candidates to use video "as part of the application and screening process," either live or in a recorded session. The pages we checked do not name a specific video platform, and none of the program pages we read describe an online assessment or a final-round superday, so we have left those out rather than guess at them.
One more documented point: Morgan Stanley's note on recruitment scams says the firm will not ask you to pay money at any point in the hiring process, apart from reimbursable travel expenses, and that its employees will not contact candidates from a non-Morgan Stanley email address or phone number.
How to prepare#
Morgan Stanley's interview preparation page is specific, and most of its advice turns into a short checklist:
Know your resume well enough to talk through every line without reading it.
Prepare examples from jobs, projects, coursework and extracurricular activities that show the skills the program asks for.
Have a clear reason for wanting to work in the industry, at the firm, and in the division you applied to.
Research the firm's history, how it is organized, its core values, and the program and division you applied to.
Choose one or two areas of the industry that you can discuss with knowledge and conviction. The firm says it does not expect candidates to understand every part of markets, finance and economics.
Ask the interviewer relevant, specific questions, and avoid generic ones such as "What does Morgan Stanley do?"
For a recorded or live video interview, the firm's video interview article suggests testing your audio, video and internet connection ahead of time, using a quiet room with a neutral background, placing the camera just above eye level, speaking from memory rather than a script, and reading the platform's rules on time limits and re-recording before you start.
For the technology programs, the listings spell out the skills. The Montreal and Calgary summer analyst pages ask for competency in at least one programming language such as C, C++, Python, Scala or Java, an understanding of data structures, algorithms and complexity theory, familiarity with Linux, Unix and Windows, and strong database and scripting skills. Those are the topics to review before a technical interview, and the words to use on your resume. Our tech internship resume guide covers how to show them. For operations, investment management and other business programs, the business internship resume guide covers how finance recruiters tend to read a resume.
