About the role#
Youth Villages offers a paid internship for Master's level students interested in community-based family services. This role provides hands-on experience in mental and behavioral health. You will work directly with families to support their needs while meeting your academic practicum requirements.
What you'll do#
- Shadow counselors during home and community-based family sessions.
- Manage a reduced caseload and implement clinical interventions.
- Facilitate individual, group, or family therapy sessions using evidence-based practices.
- Attend three weekly meetings focused on individual, team, and clinical consultation.
- Access clinical trainings to build your professional skill set.
- Provide transportation to various locations as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within an EMR system.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Master's degree in a social services discipline, such as Psychology or Criminal Justice.
- You have a valid driver's license.
- You have access to an automobile for work purposes.
- You can provide proof of auto insurance.
