Youth Villages offers a paid internship program for graduate students seeking hands-on experience in mental and behavioral health. This role is designed to align with academic practicum requirements and offers exposure to community-based family programs. The schedule is flexible and non-traditional, as it is determined by the availability of the youth and families served.
What you'll do#
- Shadow counselors during home- and community-based family sessions.
- Manage a reduced caseload and implement clinical interventions.
- Facilitate individual, group, or family therapy sessions using evidence-based practices.
- Attend weekly meetings for individual, team, and clinical consultation to support professional development.
- Access clinical trainings and maintain accurate, timely documentation within an electronic medical record system (EMR).
- Provide transportation to various locations as required.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Master’s degree program in a social services discipline, such as social work, psychology, criminal justice, drug and alcohol education, guidance counseling, or marriage and family therapy.
- A current, valid driver’s license.
- A personal automobile for work purposes.
- Proof of auto insurance.
