Observation/Student Shadow

About the role#

This is an unpaid, non-employment observation experience for students and professionals seeking to gain insight into the healthcare industry. This role is strictly observational; you will learn alongside the team to fulfill academic requirements or explore career paths. Please note that placements are limited based on staff capacity and department availability, and submitting a request does not guarantee a placement.

What you'll do#

• Observe healthcare professionals in a clinical setting.
• Complete academic observation hours required by your educational program.
• Gain an understanding of the operations of the healthcare facility.
• Maintain strict patient safety and privacy standards at all times.
• Document observations as required by your program.
• Note: Observers are not permitted to provide direct patient care, assist with clinical tasks, or make physical contact with patients.

What you'll need#

• Status as a motivated student or professional observer.
• Ability to complete required academic observation hours.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to adhere to patient safety protocols.
• A willingness to learn and understand the healthcare environment.
• Relevant majors include Biology, Nursing, Public Health, Health Administration, Psychology, or Sociology.
