About the role#
We are seeking interns for Summer 2027 to join our engineering team. You will work alongside designers, planners, project managers, and technical leaders to support water, recycled water, and infrastructure projects. Under the guidance of senior staff, you will gain hands-on experience in water supply planning, design, and construction management.
What you'll do#
- Participate in staff, public, and client meetings.
- Model water delivery systems.
- Prepare hydraulic calculations and analysis.
- Assist in the research, planning, and design of water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Perform technical writing and help develop technical reports.
- Conduct site visits and coordinate with subconsultants and vendors.
- Perform data entry and analysis.
- Provide general program and construction management support.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a full-time B.S. or M.S. program in Civil and Environmental Engineering, City and Regional Planning, BioResource & Agricultural, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Good academic standing.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and perform well under deadlines.
- A willingness to learn and clear career aspirations.
- Prior experience with AutoCAD, ESRI (GIS), or hydraulic modeling software is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- Positions are on-site at our offices in San Luis Obispo, Ontario, Laguna Hills, San Diego, Folsom, California, or Portland, Oregon.
- We do not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
