The Economic Empowerment Intern will support refugee and immigrant populations in Greenville, South Carolina, as they work toward economic self-sufficiency. This internship provides hands-on experience in workforce development, case management, and nonprofit program operations. Interns will work under staff supervision to assist clients in navigating the U.S. workforce and accessing community resources.
What you'll do#
- Assist staff with job readiness activities, including resume building, job applications, and interview preparation.
- Support clients throughout the job search process and connect them to relevant community resources.
- Maintain accurate client records and perform data entry in program systems.
- Prepare materials and provide logistical support for workshops, orientations, and training sessions.
- Assist with employer engagement tasks, such as maintaining job leads and resource lists.
- Support general administrative duties and program operations.
What you'll need#
- A commitment to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief.
- Strong cross-cultural competency and sensitivity to the experiences of refugees and immigrants.
- A compassionate, professional, and client-centered approach.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- The ability to learn new databases and case management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Preferred: A degree or current study in Human Resources, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, or Public Health.
- Preferred: Fluency in languages such as Spanish, Swahili, Rohingya, or Arabic.

- Location: Greenville, South Carolina.
- Term: Summer 2026 (Ending August 28, 2026).
- Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: 30 hours per week.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
