About the role#
The NVH Co-Op supports the North America Application Engineering team's Brake NVH group. You will work directly under a Senior NVH Application Engineer. This position provides hands-on exposure to brake noise and vibration testing, material data management, and product development. You will assist with daily engineering tasks while contributing to innovation projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform Frequency Response Function (FRF) measurements on brake components for modal characterization and squeal investigations.
- Conduct SAE J3001 testing and assist with test setup, data collection, and post-processing.
- Manage and update WAM material data sheets to ensure accuracy and version control.
- Support Application Engineers with daily testing, data analysis, and program deliverables.
- Prepare NVH testing summaries and reports for internal review and customer documentation.
- Contribute to innovation and new product development projects, including testing of new shim and damping material concepts.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Interest in NVH, acoustics, vibration, or structural dynamics.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work on-site in a lab and test-cell environment.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods, move between work areas, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
