About the role#
Wisconsin Steel and Tube is hiring a Human Resources Intern to gain hands-on experience in the warehousing and storage industry. You will work directly with our HR team on recruiting, onboarding, and daily departmental operations. This role is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Milwaukee.
What you'll do#
- Lead recruitment efforts for hourly shop-floor positions.
- Conduct initial candidate screenings and interviews.
- Assist with new-hire orientation and onboarding.
- Create and post job openings on job boards and social media.
- Act as a technical resource for recruiting questions.
- Organize and maintain employee records by scanning and uploading documents.
- Manage departmental mail and correspondence.
- Support the HR team with additional projects and functions.
- Follow all safety regulations and maintain an orderly work area.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2- or 4-year college program, preferably in Human Resources or Business Administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Comfort interacting with employees and candidates at all levels.
- A detail-oriented mindset with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
