About the role#
Wilson Health is hiring a Student Respiratory Therapist for a PRN position in Sidney, Ohio. This role supports our Respiratory Therapy department by providing care to patients with breathing conditions under the supervision of a licensed professional. You will work varied hours, with a minimum commitment of 24 hours per 6-week schedule.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the physical and emotional needs of patients.
- Administer medical gases, aerosols, and humidification.
- Monitor and record results for gas administration and aerosolized medications.
- Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and bronchopulmonary hygiene.
- Manage airway equipment and mechanical ventilation.
- Obtain arterial samples and test blood gas samples.
- Deliver non-aerosolized medications.
- Conduct electrocardiograms, pulse oximetry, and peak flow monitoring.
- Maintain, clean, assemble, and test respiratory equipment.
- Perform maintenance on blood gas analyzers.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program.
- Status as a second-year student.
- Eligibility for NBRC registration.
- A limited permit from the State of Ohio Medical Board.
- Current BLS certification.
