About the role#
This is a paid summer 2027 internship based in Richmond, Virginia. You will work with experienced designers on real-world projects involving the technology infrastructure found in modern buildings. The role focuses on the physical components of data networks, including structured cabling, fiber infrastructure, pathway systems, electronic security, and audiovisual setups.
What you'll do#
- Design physical infrastructure components for data networks.
- Assist with system layouts and project documentation.
- Gain hands-on experience with the design process.
- Coordinate technology systems design with architectural and engineering disciplines.
- Learn Revit software.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university program focused on information technology, engineering, or a related technical field.
- Completion of at least your second year by summer 2027.
- An interest in technology systems and building design.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A collaborative mindset.
- Revit experience is preferred but not required.

- Location: Richmond, Virginia.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: This is primarily an in-office experience with some hybrid flexibility. The exact balance of office and remote work is determined by you and your manager.
- Compensation: $20 - $25 per hour.
