About the role#
The YRCT (Youth Recovery CT) internship provides an opportunity to support youth recovery initiatives. You will contribute to projects that engage young people in their recovery journeys and help bring a youth voice to the recovery space.
What you'll do#
- Perform administrative tasks to support YRCT grantees.
- Train as a SMART Recovery facilitator and co-facilitate meetings.
- Represent YRCT at community events to promote the program.
- Help update the YRCT website.
- Participate in a virtual intern seminar held twice a month on Fridays from 10am to 12pm.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 2-4 year degree program for social work or a related human services field.
- Familiarity with the recovery community or personal lived experience.
- Understanding of current trends affecting young people in recovery.
- Experience using social media platforms for outreach and promotion.
- Ability to attend a mandatory three-day in-person orientation in Bristol.
- Availability to maintain a regular attendance schedule throughout the internship, including periods outside of the standard school vacation calendar.

- This role is based in Plainville, Connecticut.
- The position is on-site and paid.
- This is a full-time internship with rolling start dates.
