Intern

About the role#

Weigel Broadcasting Co. is offering a summer internship for students to gain hands-on experience in television production. Interns will work alongside the production staff in Chicago, gaining exposure to both studio and field production while participating in the creation of stories from initial research to final broadcast.

What you'll do#

• Review research for daily stories and long-term projects.
• Assist in coordinating and organizing assets for editors and graphic artists.
• Support essential administrative tasks necessary to operate a daily one-hour television program.
• Watch and evaluate story board edits for the editing team.
• Perform other production-related duties as assigned.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, with a focus on Communications, Journalism, or Media Studies.
• Ability to commit to 20 hours per week.
• Highly organized approach to tasks.
• A strong interest in history, pop culture, and news.
• Flexibility to meet the demands of a daily television production schedule.

• Compensation: $17.05 per hour.
• This is a paid internship.
