About the role#
The Wausau Woodchucks and Wausau Ignite Softball are looking for interns to help manage the operations of Athletic Park. This role focuses on the daily maintenance, food service, and hospitality needs of the ballpark throughout the summer season. You will work directly with our hospitality and concession areas to ensure fans have a positive experience during games and events.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and clean all hospitality and concession areas for games and outings.
- Manage food and beverage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and rotating stock.
- Track consumption and waste to maintain accurate records.
- Oversee game day staff and step into their roles when necessary.
- Ensure all food preparation, handling, and storage follow safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist with general ballpark organization and cleaning, including pre-season and post-season maintenance.
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support daily ballpark operations.
What you'll need#
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to take direction and delegate tasks to other staff members.
- Experience or knowledge in hospitality, event management, or food and beverage service is preferred.
- Capability to solve problems and make decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to communicate clearly with staff and guests.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, reach, and stand or move around for long periods.
- A self-motivated work ethic.

- Term: Summer 2027 (mid-May to late August).
- Modality: On-site.
- Availability: Must be available for all home games and assigned events.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
