Structural Engineering Internship

About the role#

This full-time Summer 2026 internship provides an opportunity to work alongside Architects and Engineers on design and restoration projects. You will report to the local Director of Operations and gain hands-on experience in structural engineering within a professional consulting environment.

What you'll do#

• Participate in on-site survey teams to determine causes of deterioration or confirm as-built conditions.
• Assist Engineers and Project Managers with design tasks, including ACI load combinations, shear and moment diagrams, column load calculations, and foundation design.
• Prepare project documentation, including drawings and reports.
• Collect and organize project data such as surveys, building codes, and soil reports.
• Visit job sites to observe construction progress and submit field reports.
• Review shop drawings and submittals.
• Use engineering software to solve technical problems.

What you'll need#

• Junior, Senior, or Graduate level standing in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.
• An overall GPA of 3.25 or higher.
• Strong writing, communication, and team collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with computer applications, with some experience in Revit or AutoCAD preferred.
• Willingness to travel for field visits within the state.
