About the role#
Walker Consultants is hiring a Structural Engineer Intern for our Tampa office. You will assist our team with structural design, restoration, and forensic work. This role allows you to apply your classroom knowledge to real projects while developing technical skills in the built environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist project engineers with structural analysis, calculations, and design tasks.
- Support field investigations, site visits, and condition assessments of existing structures.
- Prepare drawings, reports, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers on restoration, forensic, and design projects.
- Gain exposure to industry software, standards, and best practices.
- Contribute to projects that impact communities and clients.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural engineering.
- A strong foundation in structural analysis and design principles.
- Interest in restoration, forensics, and problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, or other engineering software is a plus.
