About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will support the daily operations of our pharmacy while providing clinical services to our patients. You will work under the guidance of the Pharmacy Manager to ensure efficient workflow, accurate medication dispensing, and high-quality customer care. This is a full-time, on-site position in Ames, Iowa.
What you'll do#
- Consult with customers on the effective use of medications, side effects, and potential interactions.
- Manage the compounding, review, and verification of prescriptions.
- Perform clinical services including immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness screenings.
- Assist the Pharmacy Manager with inventory management, financial performance analysis, and staff training.
- Resolve customer issues and maintain strong relationships with local healthcare providers.
- Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims and maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations and company policies.
- Participate in community outreach activities to promote pharmacy services.
What you'll need#
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution, to be obtained prior to your start date.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Certification as an immunizer, or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
- Proficiency with pharmacy information technology systems.
