About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work directly with patients and staff to support the daily operations of the pharmacy, focusing on both clinical care and administrative tasks. This role is designed to prepare you for a career as a pharmacist by integrating you into our team and workflow.
What you'll do#
- Provide consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare.
- Perform pharmacist tasks such as compounding, drug therapy reviews, and medication management.
- Ensure the accurate dispensation and verification of prescribed medications.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, offering assistance, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Counsel patients on side effects, over-the-counter products, and general health needs.
- Support pharmacy workflow, inventory management, and financial performance.
- Process insurance claims and resolve payment rejections.
- Perform immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness services.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with staff hiring, training, and performance coaching.
- Maintain and propose enhancements for pharmacy systems.
What you'll need#
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution, or the willingness to obtain one prior to your start date.
- Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the Board of Pharmacy in the state of Illinois within 90 days of hire.
- Certification as an immunizer, or the willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
