About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will support the pharmacy team by providing clinical services and ensuring efficient daily operations. This role focuses on patient care, medication safety, and maintaining pharmacy standards. You will work closely with the pharmacy manager to improve workflow and build relationships within the local medical community.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers and counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and over-the-counter products.
- Handle the compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, offering assistance, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Perform clinical and wellness services, including immunizations and flu shots.
- Ensure the pharmacy operates according to all regulations and company policies.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with workflow procedures, staff training, and hiring.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems like Intercom Plus, registers, and automation tools.
- Process insurance claims and follow up with medical providers to clarify prescriptions.
- Analyze performance data and assist with inventory management.
- Participate in community outreach to promote pharmacy services.
What you'll need#
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution, to be obtained prior to your start date.
- Pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Certification as an immunizer, or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
