About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Pharmacy Intern Grad position based in Fredericksburg, Virginia. You will work on-site, supporting pharmacy operations while gaining experience in a retail setting. This role involves a mix of clinical care, operational management, and patient interaction.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers, including advice on medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare.
- Handle the compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Support efficient pharmacy workflows and assist the manager with inventory, financials, and customer experience.
- Perform clinical services such as immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness services.
- Process insurance claims and coordinate with medical providers to resolve issues.
- Assist the manager with staff hiring, training, and performance coaching.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems including Intercom Plus, registers, and automation.
- Participate in community outreach to promote pharmacy services.
What you'll need#
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution, to be obtained prior to the start date.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Certification as an immunizer, or the willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
