About the role#
This is a full-time Pharmacy Intern Grad position based in Roanoke, Virginia. The role focuses on clinical support, patient consultation, and pharmacy operations within a retail setting. You will work on-site and the position follows a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers, including medication usage and drug interaction information.
- Manage the compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with workflow efficiency, inventory management, and financial optimization.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, offering assistance, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Perform clinical and wellness services, such as immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness sessions.
- Process insurance claims and follow up with medical providers to clarify prescriptions.
- Support staff hiring, training, and development through coaching and feedback.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy information technology systems and ensure compliance with all regulations and company policies.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Current certification as an immunizer, or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
