About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern Grad at Walgreens, you will support the daily operations of the pharmacy while gaining experience in clinical and retail services. This is a part-time position based in Loveland, Colorado.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage and drug interactions.
- Perform clinical and wellness services, including immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness.
- Ensure the accurate compounding, verification, and dispensation of prescribed medications.
- Support pharmacy workflow and assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management and financial performance.
- Counsel patients on side effects, contraindications, and over-the-counter products.
- Handle pharmacy opening, closing, and shift change duties.
- Process insurance claims and maintain knowledge of pharmacy information systems.
- Engage with the local medical community to build professional relationships.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with staff training and hiring processes.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution before your start date.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Current certification as an immunizer, or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
