About the role#
This is a full-time Pharmacy Intern Grad position based in Independence, Ohio. You will work on-site to support pharmacy operations, patient care, and clinical services. This role involves a mix of administrative, operational, and direct patient interaction duties to ensure the pharmacy runs efficiently while meeting regulatory standards.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services, including medication usage guidance, drug interaction awareness, and preventive healthcare.
- Handle compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Support pharmacy workflow, inventory management, and financial optimization.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, answering questions, and offering assistance with products and services.
- Perform clinical and wellness services such as immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness.
- Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims and resolve payment issues.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with staff hiring, training, and performance analysis.
- Open and close the pharmacy and manage shift change duties.
- Build and maintain relationships with the local medical community and participate in community outreach.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy information technology systems.
What you'll need#
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution prior to your start date.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Certification as an immunizer, or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
