About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will work in a full-time capacity at our Uvalde, Texas location. This role focuses on clinical pharmacy services, operational efficiency, and patient care. You will support the pharmacy manager in daily operations while gaining professional experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers, including medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare.
- Perform compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Counsel patients on side effects, contraindications, and medication management.
- Manage pharmacy opening and closing procedures and shift change duties.
- Support efficient pharmacy workflow and assist the pharmacy manager with operations, inventory management, and financial optimization.
- Engage customers, resolve issues, and model service best practices.
- Process insurance claims and coordinate with medical providers to clarify prescriptions.
- Perform immunizations, flu shots, and other wellness services.
- Assist with staff hiring, training, and performance coaching.
- Develop relationships with the local medical community and participate in community outreach.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy systems including Intercom Plus, registers, and automation.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution before the start date.
- Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Certified Immunizer status, or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
