About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will support the daily operations of our pharmacy while gaining clinical experience. You will work directly with customers and healthcare providers to ensure patients receive safe and effective medication care. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Alexandria, Louisiana.
What you'll do#
- Provide consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare.
- Perform clinical tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
- Deliver wellness services such as immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness programs.
- Engage with customers to answer questions, resolve issues, and offer product assistance.
- Support the pharmacy manager with inventory management, financial analysis, and staff training.
- Maintain pharmacy systems like Intercom Plus and StoreNET to ensure accurate insurance claim processing.
- Build relationships with the local medical community and participate in outreach activities.
- Coach team members on customer service best practices and operational procedures.
What you'll need#
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution, to be obtained prior to your start date.
- Pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Certification as an immunizer, or a willingness to complete this certification within 90 days of hire.
