About the role#
This is a full-time Pharmacy Intern Grad position based in Johnson City, Tennessee. You will support pharmacy operations while gaining clinical experience in a retail setting. The role involves a mix of patient care, medication management, and pharmacy administration.
What you'll do#
- Consult with patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
- Perform clinical services including immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness screenings.
- Handle the compounding, dispensation, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management, financial performance, and workflow optimization.
- Process insurance claims and resolve payment rejections.
- Coordinate with local medical providers to clarify prescriptions and patient care needs.
- Support staff development by assisting with training, coaching, and performance monitoring.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems including Intercom Plus, StoreNET, and automated dispensing tools.
What you'll need#
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution prior to your start date.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Current certification as an immunizer, or the willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
