About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will support the daily operations of our pharmacy while gaining practical experience in a retail setting. You will work under the guidance of the pharmacy manager to ensure our pharmacy provides accurate, efficient, and high-quality care to our patients. This is a part-time, on-site position based in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers, including medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare.
- Perform core pharmacist tasks such as compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
- Manage the pharmacy workflow, including opening and closing duties, shift changes, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Process insurance claims accurately and follow up with medical providers to clarify prescriptions, dosages, and patient allergies.
- Deliver clinical and wellness services, including immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management, pharmacy financials, and staff training.
- Engage with customers to address their questions, resolve issues, and provide information on over-the-counter products and generics.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems such as Intercom Plus, registers, and StoreNET.
- Build relationships with the local medical community, including physicians and nurses.
What you'll need#
- A willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution prior to your start date.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Must be a certified immunizer, or willing to become one within 90 days of hire.
