About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will support the daily operations of our pharmacy while gaining hands-on experience in a retail setting. This role focuses on delivering patient care, maintaining accurate medication records, and assisting the pharmacy manager with clinical and administrative tasks. You will work on-site in a full-time capacity.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, side effects, and over-the-counter products.
- Perform core pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, medication verification, and processing insurance claims.
- Offer preventive healthcare services such as immunizations and flu shots.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management, financial analysis, staff training, and hiring.
- Oversee the opening and closing of the pharmacy and ensure compliance with all regulations and company policies.
- Maintain proficiency with pharmacy systems like Intercom Plus, registers, and StoreNET.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with local medical providers.
What you'll need#
- A willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree.
- Ability to secure pharmacist licensure from the Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of your start date.
- Current certification as an immunizer, or the willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
