About the role#
This is a full-time Pharmacy Intern Grad position based in Durango, Colorado. You will work on-site to support pharmacy operations, provide clinical services, and assist with staff management. This role focuses on transitioning pharmacy tasks from transactional to interpersonal by building relationships with patients and the local medical community.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services, including answering questions about medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Manage the compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Support efficient pharmacy workflow and assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management and financial optimization.
- Perform clinical and wellness services such as immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness.
- Process insurance claims and coordinate with medical providers to clarify prescriptions.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with staff hiring, training, and performance coaching.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems like Intercom Plus, StoreNET, and pharmacy automation tools.
- Ensure the pharmacy remains in compliance with all state and federal regulations and company policies.
What you'll need#
- A willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution prior to the start date.
- A willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- A current Certified Immunizer status or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
