About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will support the daily operations of the pharmacy while developing your clinical and management skills. This role involves direct patient interaction, medication management, and collaboration with the pharmacy team to ensure efficient service and regulatory compliance. You will work on-site in a retail pharmacy setting.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services, including medication usage guidance, drug interaction awareness, and preventive healthcare services like immunizations.
- Handle the compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications according to policy and law.
- Engage with customers to answer questions, resolve issues, and offer assistance with products and services.
- Support pharmacy workflow by assisting the pharmacy manager with inventory management, financial performance analysis, and procedure implementation.
- Counsel patients on side effects, contraindications, and over-the-counter products.
- Perform pharmacist tasks such as drug therapy reviews and medication management.
- Manage pharmacy opening and closing duties, insurance claim processing, and follow-ups with medical providers.
- Participate in community outreach and build relationships with local healthcare providers.
- Assist with staff training and development while maintaining your own pharmacy knowledge through professional development and required certifications.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution before your start date.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Status as a Certified Immunizer or the willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
