About the role#
This position is for a Pharmacy Intern Grad in Dover, Delaware. You will work on-site in a retail pharmacy setting to support clinical services and daily operations. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Provide consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare.
- Handle compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Support pharmacy workflow, inventory management, and financial optimization alongside the pharmacy manager.
- Engage with customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
- Counsel patients on side effects, contraindications, and medication adherence.
- Perform pharmacist tasks such as drug therapy reviews and medication management.
- Ensure pharmacy compliance with regulations, company policies, and standards.
- Manage opening and closing procedures and shift change duties.
- Use pharmacy systems like Intercom Plus, registers, automation, and StoreNET.
- Process insurance claims and resolve payment issues.
- Provide immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness services.
- Collaborate with the local medical community and assist the pharmacy manager with staff training and performance management.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution before your start date.
- Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Current certification as an immunizer, or a willingness to become one within 90 days of hire.
