About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will support the daily operations of our pharmacy while gaining clinical experience. You will assist the pharmacy manager in maintaining efficient workflows, managing inventory, and ensuring the pharmacy meets all regulatory standards. This role focuses on providing patient care, performing pharmacist tasks, and building relationships within the local medical community.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services, including medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare services like immunizations.
- Handle compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescriptions while following company policies and legal guidelines.
- Assist customers by answering questions, resolving issues, and offering support with products and services.
- Support pharmacy financials and inventory management to enhance the customer experience.
- Perform clinical tasks including drug therapy reviews, medication management, and wellness services such as flu shots and diabetes awareness.
- Manage pharmacy opening, closing, and shift change duties.
- Coordinate with insurance companies and medical providers to process claims and clarify prescriptions.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy manager to train staff, foster teamwork, and communicate wellness strategies.
- Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy systems and participate in community outreach.
What you'll need#
- A willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution before your start date.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Certification as an immunizer, or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
