About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Pharmacy Intern Grad position based on-site in Elgin, Illinois. You will work in a retail pharmacy setting, supporting the pharmacy manager and team to ensure efficient operations and high-quality patient care. The role involves a mix of clinical tasks, administrative work, and customer engagement.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Perform compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Offer preventive healthcare services, including immunizations and flu shots.
- Support pharmacy workflow, including opening and closing duties and inventory management.
- Engage with customers to answer questions and resolve issues.
- Process insurance claims and coordinate with insurance companies and medical providers.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with staff hiring, training, and performance coaching.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy information technology systems.
- Participate in community outreach activities to promote pharmacy services.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution prior to the start date.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Must be a certified immunizer or willing to become one within 90 days of hire.
