About the role#
This position is for a Pharmacy Intern Grad at Walgreens. You will work on-site in a full-time capacity to provide essential pharmacy services. This is a paid role with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services regarding medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare.
- Handle the compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Support pharmacy workflow and help the manager optimize financials, inventory, and the customer experience.
- Greet customers, resolve their issues, and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Counsel patients on side effects, contraindications, and over-the-counter products.
- Perform pharmacist tasks such as medication management and clinical services like immunizations and flu shots.
- Ensure pharmacy operations comply with regulations and company policies.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems including Intercom Plus, registers, and automation.
- Process insurance claims and resolve rejections.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the local medical community.
- Assist with staff training, coaching, and performance management.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Certification as an immunizer or the willingness to become one within 90 days of hire.
