About the role#
This is a full-time Pharmacy Intern Grad position based in Franklin Park, New Jersey. You will support the pharmacy manager in daily operations, focusing on clinical services, workflow efficiency, and customer care. This role involves both operational tasks and direct patient interaction to promote health and wellness.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services, including medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare.
- Perform compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management, financial optimization, and workflow procedures.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, offering assistance, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Deliver clinical and wellness services, such as immunizations and flu shots.
- Counsel patients on side effects, contraindications, and medication management.
- Handle the opening and closing of the pharmacy and manage shift change duties.
- Process insurance claims and resolve payment rejections.
- Communicate with medical providers to clarify prescriptions, dosages, and allergies.
- Assist with staff training, hiring, and performance coaching.
- Participate in community outreach to promote pharmacy services.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems like Intercom Plus, registers, and StoreNET.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution before starting.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Current certification as an immunizer, or willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
